Community Currency is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that fights for equal opportunity – for every child, in every neighborhood – by collecting wasted domestic and foreign currency from international travelers.
We are a 501(c)(3) registered start-up based on the campus of Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. Our team consists of nine dedicated undergraduate students interested in business and passionate about the power of social entrepreneurship. It’s simple: we collect leftover foreign currencies from international travelers and donate the salvaged funds to local charities. We seek to promote social good and create a cycle of economic sustainability among Chicagoans.
